Baronial leader, tried to hold Tunbridge Castle against Rufus in 1088, involved with the rebellion in 1088 and 1095, in attendance on William II (Rufus) in 1100 and at his murder the same year, and in attendance on Henry I in 1101. Conquered Cardigan in either 1107 or 1111.

Richard and Rohese built a priory in St.Neots which was dedicated in 1100. Unfortunately, Richard never saw the dedication as he died in 1090.
